It is amazing to already be reflecting back on five years. September 2009 is when I took a personal leap-of-faith to create a photography brand in which I wholeheartedly believe. It’s nice to know that five years in, I still feel the same way. With a move to Virginia comes a time of reflecting and rebuilding, but the core of Sweet Tea Imagery remains the same. It’s about family. Real moments. Simple, clean imagery. Priceless captures of time with those who matter most.
I look back with gratitude to all the families I had the privilege to work with, and look forward to continuing to photograph amazing families in the future!
As you may have seen on our social media, Sweet Tea Imagery has been in the midst of a transition this spring. We have relocated to the Charlottesville, Virginia area. Since both Billy and I are born and raised Central Virginians, it feels so great to be back home! We love the lowcountry so very much, and will always be back for weddings, vacations, etc. However, the decision to raise our family in the environment that we loved while growing up pulled us back to Virginia. It’s a new adventure, and I look forward to putting down roots here and working with an entirely different landscape. Hello, mountains!
Also, I want to use this post as an opportunity to thank all of my wonderful clients over the last four years. It has been such an honor to work with each and every one of your families. Chasing your kiddos around on the beach has been a dream. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Seeing this happy girl’s huge smile while swinging in the trees just reminds me, yet again, how much I love my job.
One of the highlights of my entire summer was getting to see these sweet girls again. I have photographed big sister since she was three months old, but since they moved out of state, it had been a long time since I had seen them. They are such fun, adventurous girls, just like their sweet Mommy who let them run around and jump in the water fully clothed. It was a perfect photo shoot, in my opinion. I treasure these free moments with these girls.
I loved getting to see these cool kids again. It has been two years since our last shoot, and they are just as photogenic as ever. We had lots of fun exploring the marsh and goofing around…it was awesome hanging out with them again!
